Aberrant - meaning not holding to doctrine and/or way "off the mark" of the dogma [also see dogma and doctrine].

Bible (or "the Bible") - 66 books of the new and old testaments [also see old and new testament]. The Jehovah Witness have revised their Bible to a version totally different from other Christian denominations [also see cult and JW's]. The Mormons [see Mormons] have their own Bible that is very different that the regular Christian Bible, but they do recognize the regular Bible as one of their sources.

Commandments - The 10 commandments given by God to Moses in Exo XXX and Deut XXXX. Many Sunday-keepers will also consider the commandments given Jesus as new commandments (SDA consider these as a "summary" of the 10 commandments, so are only a reiteration of the 10). - [also see OT and NT law, or the Law]

Cult - an organization that does not hold fully to standard and basic doctrine of the Christian faith. These are "essential" of the Christian faith, such as: the Trinity, Jesus being the Son of God, Jesus being God, Jesus death, resurrection and ascension, salvation through Jesus Christ through faith, by grace alone, etc.

Dogma - meaning "doctrine" or core beliefs

Doctrine - meaning "dogma" or core beliefs of the Christian faith, such as: the Trinity, Jesus being the Son of God, Jesus being God, Jesus death, resurrection and ascension, salvation through Jesus Christ through faith, by grace alone, etc [also see essentials].

Investigative Jugdement - little know SDA doctrine which tried to explain Jesus no show in 1844 (after the Great Disappointment). Is a doctrine or core belief of SDA because of the writings of Ellen White. It states that Jesus did not return to earth 1844, but instead went into the "Holy place" in the heavenly temple to "investigate" the sins of the saints. Was later revised because of errors and non-fulfillments.

New testament (NT) - Last 22 books of the gentile (Christian) Bible from Matthew to Revelations. The Roman Catholics also add the Apocrpha writings that Protestants do not accept. [also see Bible]

SDA (Seventh Day Adventist) - Protestant Church who believe in the seventh day (Saturday) sabbath and the keeping of the OT Law.

Sabbath (the Sabbath) - 4th of the 10 commandments. A day of rest officially initiated in Exo XXXX for the Children of Israel (XXXX), was later recognized as a day of worship and sacrifice. SDA recognize this as still relevant and valid for NT gentiles.
